Does RegSweep Really Work? Find Out In Our Review…

A computers registry is one of the most vital parts of the Windows operating system. If you have recently noticed that your computers performance has been getting worse, or that your system is behaving oddly including having random crashes and error messages then a registry error is probably the cause. The old method of cleaning a corrupted registry was to reformat the hard drive and start over with a fresh install of your operating system.

These days though you can clean up your registry using one of a number of registry repair software products that have recently been launched on to the market. Some people have been skeptical about using these registry repair programs on their system. They simply don’t believe it will fix it. This simply isn’t true. many of the registry repair programs available these days are very good at the task of cleaning your computers registry quickly and efficiently.

Like many of the other registry repair programs out there RegSweep will scan your operating system automatically without the user having to understand what a shared dll or other registry entry is.

After installing RegSweep and opening the program you are presented with a easy to use interface with the following options: scan, settings, backup and finally manage startup. If you enter the scan screen you can let RegSweep scan for all the most common registry errors that occur on a computer or choose to manually pick form different check boxes what areas you would like to be scanned. RegSweep has a many more options to choose from here compared to some of the other registry repair programs reviewed o this site.

To test the program I left all areas ticked in the scan windows and hit the scan button. It took less than a minute for the program to finish the scanning process which makes RegSweep the fastest registry repair program I have used when it comes to scan times.

Once the scan has finished you are shown a results screen and a list of all the problem registry entries found. You can simply choose if you would like the RegSweep to delete these problem registry entries or you can manually pick and choose from the list which files you would like removed.

In the settings tab you can decide if you want the program to start scanning once your computer boots up and if you want the program to check for new updates automatically.

Like many of the other registry repair programs available, RegSweep has a backup and restore feature. So before the program actually removes any of the problem registry entries it has found it will make a backup copy of them in case there are any issues once the files have been removed. if something does occur you simply restore your registry to it’s previous state.

Another feature in RegSweep that is common in many other registry repair programs is the Manage Startup Area. From here you can take control of the programs that load when you first start your Windows operating system. This is where a computers performance can be greatly affected as many programs you aren’t needing until some other time are installed into the Windows startup area without your knowledge causing system slowdowns. Using the Manage Startup you can remove these programs until you really need them.
